DIRECTOR - PRODUCER - COMPOSER - SOUND DESIGNER - STYLIST

G. CALDERWOOD

G. is an award-winning filmmaker, sound engineer, writer, director, and producer known for her multi-disciplinary work spanning independent cinema, music composition, and editorial fashion styling.

As a director and audio pro, she strives for psychological impact and emotional resonance in her work through refined aesthetic vision and immersive sound environments. Guided by a deep understanding of the psyche, the result is equal parts dreamlike, relatable, and achingly real.

Before the film industry, she worked in military intelligence, and is a Navy veteran. She is a Mandarin bilingual scholar & Columbia University alum. She is the lead director and co-founder of Kaleidoscope9.

I’m an intelligence worker turned film director. I want to create films that make people reconsider their worldview.
ACADEMICS

I graduated summa cum laude from Columbia University with a film degree, departmental honors, and a 4.0+ GPA in 2025.

I’m a member of Phi Beta Kappa (ΦΒΚ) and the Columbia honors society.

I also graduated from the Defense Language Institute in 2014 with a 4.0 GPA and honors.

LANGUAGES

I’m native in English, fluent in Mandarin. I have 10+ years in translation experience.

I ran and supported top secret operations. High pressure, high stakes, long hours. Recognized by DIRNSA and got a bunch of awards, skillsets, and mental scars for the low price of my eternal silence. Yeah, let's not talk about that.

Once I discovered the parallel between dreams and visual storytelling in film, I realized this was a medium I could pour myself into. I like to make the audience think. I don’t think they need everything spelled out for them. A healthy level of confusion makes the film stay with them longer. Films you totally understand from the get-go are forgettable, in my experience.

Screw content. Let's make films.

We believe in the endurance of meaningful art created by humans, and a return to intelligent, complex, character-driven narrative on screen and stream. Tell us about your idea, and let's make it real.
